About Aunt Alice Wines

Alice Davidson founded Aunt Alice in 2016 while working in commercial wineries on Australia’s Limestone Coast — originally as a side project born out of creativity and independence. In 2022 she relocated the label to Tasmania (lutruwita), settling in the Huon Valley and shifting focus to the island’s cooler-climate vineyards. What started as a personal experiment has grown into a distinctive boutique brand driven by Davidson’s vision: to make clean, crisp, expressive wines on her own terms — with sustainability, individuality and a somewhat whimsical, “fun-but-serious” spirit behind them.

Aunt Alice’s wines tend to emphasize clarity, freshness and regional character over overt manipulation or heavy-handed winemaking. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are the cornerstones, but the range also includes wines like the single-vineyard Riesling from the Coal River Valley. The style across the portfolio is often described as clean, balanced, and approachable — yet with enough nuance and texture to reward close tasting. Through small-batch production and selective vineyard sourcing, Aunt Alice aims to deliver wines that reflect the distinctive terroirs of Tasmania while retaining a sense of personality and charm.
