About Caledon Estate

Caledon Estate is a boutique, family-owned single‑site vineyard perched on the slopes of Tasmania’s Coal River Valley near Richmond, just outside Hobart. Founded in 2018 on a former sheep farm, the vineyards were carefully planted among native gum trees with minimal land disturbance—only one tree was removed—creating a truly symbiotic landscape

The estate produces expressive cool‑climate wines including Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Riesling, and Pinot Gris. They focus on small‑batch, terroir‑driven expressions and operate sustainably, even using sheep to graze paddocks and maintain ground cover
