About Fowles Wines

Fowles Wines, located in the picturesque Strathbogie Ranges of Victoria, is renowned for producing high-quality, cool-climate wines that reflect the unique terroir of the region. Founded by Matt Fowles, the winery is driven by a passion for innovation and sustainability, crafting wines that are both expressive and environmentally conscious. The diverse climate and granite-rich soils of the Strathbogie Ranges provide ideal conditions for growing a wide variety of grapes, including Shiraz, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc. Fowles Wines' commitment to excellence is evident in their meticulous vineyard management and winemaking practices, which emphasize minimal intervention to preserve the natural characteristics of the fruit.

Fowles Wines is also celebrated for its unique approach to pairing wine with game meats, encapsulated in their "Ladies who Shoot their Lunch" and "Are You Game?" wine ranges. These collections are specifically designed to complement the flavors of wild game, showcasing the winery's innovative spirit and dedication to creating memorable dining experiences. The Fowles Wines cellar door and restaurant offers visitors a warm and inviting space to explore their diverse portfolio, learn about the winemaking process, and enjoy the stunning views of the Strathbogie Ranges. With a reputation for quality and creativity, Fowles Wines continues to be a prominent player in the Australian wine industry, attracting both national and international acclaim.

The Fowles Wines vineyards in the Strathbogie Ranges were devastated by the January 2026 bushfires and 300 acres of vines were completely destroyed and they also lost a significant amount of livestock. The family home was also lost, but the winery was saved by Fire Fighters. Any purchase will help the family towards recovery.
