About Langmeil Wines
Langmeil Wines is a renowned family-owned winery located in the Barossa Valley, Australia. The winery is steeped in history, as it occupies the site of one of the Barossa's first trading villages, established by Christian Auricht in 1842. Auricht's old vineyard, planted with Shiraz in 1843, is believed to be the oldest surviving Shiraz vineyard in the world, producing Langmeil's flagship wine, the Freedom 1843 Shiraz.
Langmeil Winery was re-established in 1996 by three local Barossa families, who restored the historical buildings and revitalized the vineyard. The winery has since become a premium producer, known for its commitment to old vines and high-quality wines. The winery is also recognized for its environmental stewardship and dedication to crafting wines that reflect the unique terroir of the region
