The Pirie Late Disgorged is a batch of the best Sparkling wine of 2011 that we left in our cellars for long term lees aging. It is showing golden colours although still very bright for the age. There is some lovely the freshly baked sour dough bread smell is prominent as to the lemon curd freshness. The palate is powerful and the cool-climate Tasmanian acidity kicks in to leave a perfect balance. This wine is ready to drink now and will continue to develop nicely over the next 3 years.

This Vintage hasn’t been reviewed by Budburst as yet

The Pirie LD 2011 Sparkling has been awarded the best wine of the show at the Global Wine Challenge held in Sydney in December 2023. Its an invitation only show for New World wines from Australia, South Africa, Canada, New Zealand and the USA with 120 of the best wines from each country going head to head with each other.

It's another Illustration that Tasmania is the best Sparkling region in the world, outside of Champagne. 

It's the first Pirie Release that has been aged for 10 years on Lees prior to disgorgement
