About The Other Wine Co
Founded in 2015, The Other Wine Co is a South Australian wine label based in Balhannah in the Adelaide Hills. The wines are vinified and bottled at Shaw + Smith’s facilities, leveraging excellent technical capability and creative energy. Their mission centres on making wines that prioritise drinkability, freshness, flavour, balance and purpose. They aim to explore “otherness” by experimenting with less-common grape varieties, interesting regions, and winemaking styles that might fall outside more traditional labels
Stylistically, their wines often eschew over-ripeness, heavy oak or overly powerful styles, instead favouring purity of fruit, texture, and vibrant energy. They offer a range of reds and whites (e.g. Pinot Gris, Grenache, Barbera, Sangiovese, Savagnin) drawn from different regions of South Australia. They also have a wine club offering with quarterly or annual deliveries, which includes perks like member pricing, first access to new releases, and free shipping on some orders.
