This is the first release Earthian by Torch Bearer with specially selected parcels of fruit being wild fermented and matured in old French barrels for 24 months which has created a textural and savoury style Pinot Noir. Black cherry flavours and wild black berries provide the primary fruit characteristics with a complex and rather unique mid palate of wild undergrowth, brown mushrooms, walnuts, fennel and dried sage, which then finished with spiced and firmly grained tannins. I found that the more I went back tasting this wine, the more it revealed new characters, making this wine super interesting as well. It benefits from Decanting as well.
