About Kate Hill Wines

Kate Hill Wines, established in 2008 and based in Tasmania’s Huon Valley, is known for producing elegant cool-climate wines that reflect the terroir of southern Tasmania. Kate Hill, the winemaker and founder, worked in wineries across Australia and internationally before settling in Tasmania to focus on crafting wines with minimal intervention. The winery is housed in a converted 19th-century apple packing shed, and the cellar door opened in 2017, offering a charming space for tastings and events.

Their vineyards, primarily in the Huon Valley, feature varietals like Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Shiraz. Kate Hill Wines has earned recognition for its Pinot Noir and other wines, which emphasize finesse and balance. The winery also participates in Tasmania's Mixed Dozen scheme, allowing visitors to purchase wines for home delivery. For visitors to the area, Kate Hill Wines offers tastings and vineyard experiences that showcase their approach to quality winemaking in a cool climate setting
